We particularly recommend hotels in Praia de Iracema, Meireles or Beira Mar. Please don’t reserve hotels in Praia do Futuro, because it is far from the center of the city and dangerous.

Tabuba or Cumbuco:
The wedding will be located at a beach house in Praia da Tabuba ( Tabuba Beach – 30km for Fortaleza) We recommend our friends and families spend at least one night close to the wedding venue. There will be an open bar, so you might not want to drive back to Fortaleza.
Tabuba is really small, occupying about 1.5km of beachfront and mostly residential. The best thing is to stay in a hotel in Cumbuco beach down the road and walk or get a ride to the wedding.
In Cumbuco and Tabuba the high season is from July to November because during this time the winds are favorable for windsurfing and kitesurfing. People come there from everywhere in the world and all of the pousadas and hotels are managed by foreigners. Unfortunately for us, this means that accommodation in Cumbuco is a little more expensive than other places in the area.

Jericoacoara is a international place, so most of the hotels and pousadas have English websites. Jericoacoara has a camping and a hostels but I recommend stay in a “pousada” because you can find good prices and it’s safer to leave your stuff in a pousada when you are on the beach or wandering around.

What to do in Jeri:
Jericoacoara is one of my favourites place in the world. I just love this place and I’ve been there at least 7 times. So have some things that you should do when you are there.
I extremely recommend the tours (Lagoa do Paraiso and Lagoa Azul) It’s R$50 per person and the buggy leaves on the morning and returns in the afternoon. Bring your camera and some money to have lunch there and few “cervejinhas”
If you have time and money do the “Tatajuba Tour”. Is R$62,50 per person is also all day tour and the buggy brings you to the a beautiful village close to jericoacoara and you can see the sea horses and an underground city.
In the afternoon look for the place “Torta de Banana da Tia Angelita” (Banana Pie of Tia Angelita). It is located in the Rua Principal and Tia Angelita starting selling this delicious pie on the beach and now she has her own spot. Her recipe is world famous and you will love it.
In Tia Angelita’s you can also try the Tapioca.
Wake up early in the morning and go walking to the Pedra Furada. It is almost 40 min walking but worth the time. Pedra furada is a symbol of Jericoacoara . Take your time walking out (don’t forget to bring some water), but remember that starting late morning, the tide will be coming in, and it is not safe to walk back on the beach.
In Jericoacoara has a famous place “padaria da meia noite” Midnight bakery that just open 2:30am until 7:00. So when do you leave the party stop there and get some fresh and delicious bread.
Canoa Quebrada:
Canoa is other beach that I recommend to visit. In the years 70’s it was a place for hippies community and you can still feel the hippie atmosphere there. It is on the other side of Fortaleza, around 3 hours and it is really lively and a great place to visit. You can go directly from Jeri to Canoa, because the bus from Jeri stops at the bus terminal (rodoviaria). So you can go to Jeri, return to Fortaleza, and buy your ticket to Canoa Quebrada directly at the bus terminal.
